Jags Remain Unbeaten After 33-0 Shutout of Gaithersburg

The Northwest Jags celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Northwest football with a 33-0 shutout of Gaithersburg on Friday night as continued their winning ways and remain unbeaten this season

   The Jags would get their second touchdown after back-to-back passes from Anders to junior receiver Isaiah Williams to once again set up the Jags’ offense on the Gaithersburg goalline. This time it would be Terry to finish the drive with a one-yard power run for the touchdown, putting Northwest up 13-0.

   Anders arm would get the Jags into the endzone again, with a 23-yard touchdown pass to senior wideout Andrew Howard to give the jags a 20-0 lead with 4:10 remaining in the first half.

   The Jags would continue scoring in the second half, as Anders would connect with Terry on  45-yard pass and run to paydirt, giving Northwest a 27-0 lead with 7:12 left in the third quarter

Northwest’s final touchdown came on 35-yard pass from backup quarterback, sophomore Jordan Morse to senior receiver Christian Palowski. The pass capped the scoring at 33-0.

   Next week the Jags will face a touch test as they renew their private/public series with the Falcons of Good Counsel visit Northwest. The Falcons are 3-1 with their only let down being a 34-27 loss on the road against the 12st ranked team in the nation according to USA Today — St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia. Good Counsel, which is No. 24 in the USA Today Rakings is coming off a 55-0 home drubbing of Bishop Sullivan Catholic of Virginia Beach, Va.

   Last year, the Jags struggled on the road against Good Counsel, suffering a 58-21 loss. Friday’s game is a 7:00 pm start at the Black Hole in Germantown.
